155 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine A fter taking courses at The Ohio State University from 1963 to 1965, John Kingman Howe wanted more of a challenge. To beat this, Mr. Howe’s father helped him get a job at the E.S. Klosterman Company from 1966 to 1971 as a sales representative, where he moved up to vice president of sales. Dissatisfied, Mr. Howe rounded up some of his colleagues and he started his own business, The John K. Howe Company, Inc. Mr. Howe retired in 2019 after a more than 40-year career in various executive positions at his business management consultancy company in Ohio. After becoming the director and president in 1972, Mr. Howe also became chief executive officer in 1984 and chairman of the board in 1987. In 2003, Mr. Howe also took on the role of manufacturing, sales and marketing executive. While running the John K. Howe Company, Mr. Howe had some overlap positions as well. He worked with the Springfield Binder Corporation as director and vice president of sales from 1981 to 1984 and vice president and vice president of sales from 1971 to 1972. In his early years, Mr. Howe was a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Dayton, Ohio, from 1965 to 1966. During the same years, Mr. Howe was also a field technician at a data corporation in Dayton. He credits much of his success to the encouragement and example set by his father and grandfather. In addition to his busy work life, Mr. Howe served on many civic boards. With Adams Place Condominium Owners Association, Inc., Mr. Howe served as president of the board of managers, vice president and chairman of the operations committee. He was chairman and president of the South Dixie Business Association in the late 1980s. Additionally, Mr. Howe has been president of the Woods of Lincoln Park Homeowner’s Association and a member of the Fraze Pavilion Fundraising Committee and the Cincinnati Bailliage of the Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.
