100 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Dr. Khairullah was awarded the Faculty Recognition Award for Professional Excellence in Research and Publication, the Award for Excellence inTeaching and the Faculty Recognition Award for Special Services to the University and Community from St. Bonaventure. He was twice awarded the Outstanding Track Chair Award at the International Academy of Business Disciplines Conferences, and was the recipient of Awards for Community Service from the Islamic Society of the Southern Tier and the Olean-Bradford area YMCA. Dr. Khairullah has been amember of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences, American Production and Inventory Control Society, International Academy of Business Disciplines, Institute ofMarketing andManagement and Decision Sciences Institute. Now residing in Californiawithhiswife, DurriyaKhairullah, PhD, he is the proud parent of three daughters: Dr. Nazifah Zahid Khairullah, Dr. Firhana Zahid Khairullah and Dr. Sakhiba Zahid Khairullah. D r. Zahid Yahya Khairullah received a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in 1971. After graduation he joined a manufacturing company but become dissatisfied with the routine work and decided to seek higher degrees that would enable him to work on more challenging issues. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1972, where his engineering dreams changed into success in academics and business. Upon arrival to the U.S., Dr. Khairullah received an MS in mechanical engineering in 1974, an MBA in management science in 1977 and a PhD in management in 1982, all from the State University of New York at Buffalo. A broad education and being of service to his community has been a source of satisfaction for Dr. Khairullah. He attained emeritus status in 2017, and had been a committed faculty member of St. Bonaventure University since 1977. Over 40 years, Dr. Khairullah held various positions, including dean, professor, associate professor and assistant professor of the School of Business, chairman of the department of management sciences, chairman of the department of marketing and chair of several key university committees. Previously, he was a design engineer at M/S Secure Enterprises in Buffalo and a junior officer at M/S Special Steels Ltd. in Mumbai, India.
