ADVERTISING EXECUTIVE Newman and Associates Mayfield Heights, OH JOSEPH H. “JOE” NEWMAN ADVERTISING, MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS J oseph H. “Joe” Newman received a BA from Bethany College in 1949 and an MS from Columbia University in 1956. Unsure where his career was headed after his undergraduate years, the opportunity to delve into advertising and media soon presented itself. Since that time, he has contributed his expertise to the advertising industry. Mr. Newman has been president of Newman and Associates in Cleveland, Ohio, since 1989. He previously served as vice president and media director for Della Femina, McNamee Inc., HBM/Creamer and Marsteller Inc., all in New York City. Additionally, he was a media director for O.S. Tyson & Co. and a media supervisor for the Fred Wittner Advertising Agency. In 1949, Mr. Newman commenced his career at 20th Century Fox Film Corp. Mr. Newman is a member of the Business Marketing Association and was the recipient of their New York Chapter’s Agency Executive of the Year Award in 1960, 1966, 1971 and 1973.
