After working for a plumbing company for six years, Mr. Major felt the next step in his career was to open his own business. In 2002, Mr. Major spearheaded Major’s Plumbing, based out of Los Angeles, California. Certified in Uponor systems and use of polythene, Mr. Major attributes his success to hard work and patience. He finds the most rewarding aspect of his profession is being able to make his clients happy and give them peace of mind that their home plumbing works properly. According to BuildZoom.com, Major’s Plumbing maintains a score of 100 and ranks in the top 13% of the over 330,000 California licensed contractors. As technology advances each year, Mr. Major has observed that plumbing installations are becoming more practical. He notes that onsite training is becoming easier to teach and understand with newer applications. He has also learned that every day on the job is a learning experience in itself. In five years’ time, Mr. Major wishes to expand the business by adding more employees and growing his profit and client base. Mr. Major’s mentors include his mother, Ava Price, for her constant patience and impeccable social skills that are necessary for any business. A businessman and executive, Mr. Major’s father Ulrick Major Sr. has left a meaningful impact on Mr. Major’s career by influencing him with his business mindset. Another mentor to Mr. Major’s credit includes Rick Davis, who taught Mr. Major the fundamentals of the plumbing trade. Furthermore, Mr. Major thanks all of his past and present clients for letting him know he is on the right path. Born in Belize in Central America in 1978, Mr. Major enjoys fishing, camping and spending time with his three children: Ulrick III, Michael and Zion.
