332 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine D r. William Read Bush found his niche in computers and the practical side of technology. He has enjoyed the combination of skills he used and received a BA from Harvard College in 1972 and JD from Boston College in 1977. He later obtained an MS in 1985 and a PhD in 1992, both from the University of California Berkeley. Since 2013, Dr. Bush has been a consulting computer scientist at D’Crypt PTE Ltd. in Singapore. Prior to venturing overseas for work, Dr. Bush held numerous positions in Palo Alto, California, between 1994 and 2013. He served as the director of engineering at Movious and senior scientist at Kestrel Technology and Sun Microsystems. Additionally, in 1994, he became a founder and principal scientist at Intrinsa Corp. Dr. Bush spent more than one decade working at the University of California Berkeley, in which he had served as a teaching assistant, research assistant, postgraduate researcher and computer scientist. From 1973 to 1977, he was a member of technical staff at the Computer Corporation of America in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and from 1977 to 1982, he was a senior programmer at Harvard University. Additionally, he was a consultant, computer scientist and principal investigator to AKM Associates in San Mateo, California, in the 1980s and 1990s. Over his years of computing, Mr. Bush’s achievements included cloud storage and a new way of looking for errors in computing software. Running the software analyzer on Windows 2000, Mr. Bush and a colleague found 30,000 bugs and received much funding for their continued research. They created the KBM project, which was eventually taken and installed by the Blackberry Company and a Japanese phone company. A contributor of article to numerous scientific journals, Dr. Bush published a paper about technology, which is now one of the five most cited papers in software and is being taught in university courses worldwide. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Association for Computing Machinery, and the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and Chorale.
