200 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine I mmediately after graduating high school, Leonard Kaine began his career with the U.S. Navy. From 1954 to 1980, he served as a captain and naval aviator. Mr. Kaine’s unit was the first to not lose an airplane in combat. Mr. Kaine was the youngest naval officer to be promoted to captain in 1977 and he was selected for Two Star Admiral in 1998. Alongside his dedication to the Navy, Mr. Kaine opted to receive an education. In 1965, he graduated from the College of William & Mary with a BBA. He received a second BBA, summa cum laude, in 1976 and obtained an MBA, with distinction, in 1977, both from National University. Since 1972, Mr. Kaine has been the president of the Golden Rule Society, a charity which offers educational and character building programs to children, with a focus on children of military service members and law enforcement personnel. From 1972 to 2007, Mr. Kaine worked at Creative Worldwide Media, and in 1980, he served as a realtor, broker, developer and owner of Stand Crown. From 1967 to 1986, he was a captain with U.S. Airways. Mr. Kaine has received much recognition for his service and career work, and in 2005 and 2006, he was the recipient of the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award and Volunteer Service Award from President George W. Bush. Additionally, the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs named him Veteran of the Year in 2010 and CNN named him Hero of the Year in 2011. From the Navy, Mr. Kaine received the J.S. McCain Trophy, All-Navy Enlisted Retention Trophy, Command at Sea Star and numerous decorated medals. Mr. Kaine is a member of the Nucleus Project, Christ Episcopal Church, Heart Fund, Cancer Foundation, Salvation Army, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Upgrade and Restoration, U.S. Naval Aviation Centennial Celebration and World Peace One Foundation. He sits on the board at Practice Interactive LLC and is chairman of the board at Nationwide Reality Pilot LLC.
