207 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine A ir Force General Ricardo Ortega Perrier grew up within a military family, as his father was a general in the Air Force and worked as the undersecretary. His father’s example inspired General Ortega Perrier to follow the same path, and he later became a major general and commander in chief of the Chile Air Force from 2006 to 2010. General Ortega Perrier graduated with an MA in political science from the Universidad de Chile and an MBA from the Universidad Gabriela Mistral in 1971. He previously pursued education at the Air War College of the Chilean Air Force, graduating as a staff officer. He is a certified aeronautical system engineer. After his years in the Air Force, General Ortega Perrier focused on putting his degrees to use. He is currently associated with the Russian Defense Agency Rosoboronexport. From 2011 to 2017, he was president of the LATAMoffice of KallmanWorldwide in Santiago. KallmanWorldwide creates unique opportunities for companies to strengthen business relationships around the world. Since 1963, Kallman Worldwide has helped more than 10,000 companies, associations and government agencies at over 1,500 industry and professional events in 46 countries. Prior to this role, he was a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Santiago and board of directors member for CODELCO. General Ortega Perrier is the current president of the Retired Generals and Admirals Defense Association and is part of the charity un Techo para Chile. He attributes his success to having a good spirit and making good decisions. He believes that everyone should lend a hand to another when they have suffered a loss, and he had learned that during his time with the Air Force. General Ortega Perrier’s career highlight was earning the Decorated Legion of Merit in the Grade of Commander, as well as his involvement in the purchasing of new equipment from the United States and revitalizing the Chilean Air Force. He has also been recognized by the governments of Brazil, Spain, France, Bolivia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Argentina and Colombia.
