MIZEJEWSKI D r. Gerald J. Mizejewski holds a BS in biology from Duquesne University, and an MS and PhD in cell biology/physiology both from the University of Maryland, College Park. He holds patents for the development of Alpha-fetoprotein growth inhibitory and cancer peptides for diagnostic and therapeutic use in cancer monitoring, growth and metastasis. Overseeing and directing the Wadsworth Research Center’s Fetal Defect Markers Proficiency Testing Program in the New York State Health Department, Dr. Mizejewski has taught at the New York State University School of Public Health, the University of South Carolina, the University of Michigan and the University of Maryland, among other prominent universities, in cell biology, human anatomy and physiology, immunology and serology, histology, and cancer and fetal biomarkers. Additionally, Dr. Mizejewski is a renowned author, publishing 150 peer-reviewed journal articles, given 120 conference presentations, contributed 16 book chapters, co-edited four books on Alpha-fetoprotein and authored one secular book. He was a grantee of the National Cancer Institute and was awarded an NSF fellowship to research marine embryology for six weeks at the Biological Station in Bermuda. W ith a passion for helping others through modern medicine, Carol J. Marshall-Douglas received a BA in biological sciences from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Now a certified project manager, she has served as a Project Director in pharmaceutical clinical trial management since 2000. Additionally, she is an adjunct faculty member of the Medford Historical Society and vice chair of the Dr. James Still Historic Office Site and Education Center. Ms. Marshall-Douglas commenced her career with the National Disease Research Interchange as a transplant procurement coordinator, supervisor and research manager from 1989 to 1992. For one year, she was a clinical research data coordinator for U.S. Bioscience before joining the team at Covance, Inc. She spent 24 years with Covance as a clinical research project manager, senior clinical data coordinator, project manager and project director. A member of the Project Management Institute, Ms. Marshall- Douglas earned her project management certification. She plans to continue expanding her contribution in development of new and exciting therapies toward making treatments available globally for various medical conditions. CAROL J.
