261 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine I nspired by his brother, Charles Allan Crocker had his sights set on becoming a lawyer from a young age. Upon receiving a BBA from Texas Tech University in 1962, he went on to obtain an LLB from the University of Texas in 1965. Now admitted to practice in the state of Texas, and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and U.S. Claims Court, Mr. Crocker has been certified in estate planning and probate for more than 40 years. Since 1987, Mr. Crocker has worked out of his private practice, Charles A. Crocker Attorney at Law, where he concentrates on estate planning, wills, trusts and probate. Additionally, Mr. Crocker’s firm also handles state and federal tax matters for individuals and corporations. He holds an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell and was the recipient of the 40 Year Award. Commencing his career as an estate tax examiner for the Internal Revenue Service in Houston in 1965, seven years later, Mr. Crocker worked as an accountant for Peat, Marwick & Mitchell until 1974. His first attorney position was with Baker & Botts from 1974 to 1986, and then with Hendricks Management Co. for one year before spearheading his own practice. Looking back on his memorable law career, Mr. Crocker recalls a 1987 case involving the estate of Dan Harrison Jr. as the highlight of his career. The case dealt with family partnerships and evaluation discounts, and was particularly high-profile. Looking ahead, Mr. Crocker plans to continue doing what he loves: serving clients and representing the law. He thanks his mentors Tom Eubank and Thomas Berry for their unmatched guidance and support over the years. Mr. Crocker is a member of the American Bar Association and Houston Bar Association, and in his free time, enjoys golf and skiing. From 1976 to 1980, he was director of the Houston Estate and Financial Forum, and from 1996 to 2018, he was involved with the Salient Trust Company.
