In that time, he served as the director and manager of the Information Sciences Laboratory, and senior research scientist and manager of the Computational Physics Department. From 1996 to 1998, he was with the Hughes Research Laboratories as a senior staff computer scientist. He calls his contributions to designing the shapes of aircrafts as a principal investigator with the Hughes Research Laboratory the highlight of his career. In the earlier years of his career, Dr. Stalzer was the principal engineer and manager of software engineering for Trace Instruments from 1981 to 1991 and a Merrill Lynch associate for one year. Looking ahead, Dr. Stalzer hopes to take on a board director position, but he still enjoys his current focus on pure research and teaching.
