50 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine INDEPENDENT ART HISTORIAN AND ADVISER Winnetka, IL MUSIC EDUCATOR Los Altos, CA SUZANNE FOLDS MCCULLAGH, PHD F ollowing one year at Williams College, Dr. Suzanne Folds McCullagh received her BA from Smith College in 1973 and earned a Master’s in 1974 and a PhD in 1981, both fromHarvard University. A summer seminar held in Florence in 1970 ignited her passion for Italian art, but a summer internship at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1972 confirmed her interest in a museum career. After more than 40 years as a curator in the Art Institute of Chicago’s renowned department of prints and drawings, in 2016 Dr. McCullagh retired from her position as the Anne Vogt Fuller and Marion Titus Searle curator and department chair. From 2016 to 2020, she served as director of the Gray Collection Trust, organizing a major traveling exhibition (with catalogue) and assisting the collection’s dispersal. An emeritus board member of the Landmarks Preservation Council of Illinois and Glessner House, Dr. McCullagh currently serves on boards for the Antiquarian Society, Old Masters Society of the Art Institute, Harvard Art Museum’s Drawings Committee and Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s Woman’s Board. In five years’ time, she hopes to continue her quest to proselytize the importance of old master drawings. U pon receiving a piano for her 10th birthday, Nancy Daggett Jensen immediately knew playing the instrument was her destiny. A certified master teacher in music, she has been a renowned private piano teacher and music educator in Los Altos, California, since 1967. For more than 50 years, she has taught students the joys of music, finding great reward in watching their skills improve from elementary to high school. The recipient of the Master Teacher Award from the Music Teachers National Association in 1991, Ms. Jensen attributes her career success to “God given talent,” a passion for music and a love for children. She is supported by a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from San Jose State University. She plans to slow down in the years to come, and urges young educators to be patient and work hard. Ms. Jensen has been a member and artistic director of the Steinway Society Bay Area Board of Directors. With a mission to promote excellence in piano performance in the Bay area, the society arranges in-home recitals reminiscent of 19th century salon concerts and contributes to music education.
