84 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION E mbarking on a journey for “truth” as a young adolescent, Dr. Kyriaki A. Karidoyanes FitzGerald discovered her life’s purpose through theology. She received a BA from the Hellenic College’s pre-theology seminary program, a Certificate of Advanced Theological Studies specializing in Systematic/Dogmatic Theology from the University of Thessaloniki’s School of Theology and an MDiv from the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology (HCGOST). In 1985, she obtained a PhD from Boston University. Dr. FitzGerald’s personal mission is to facilitate life-giving “authentic relationships” through edu- cation, counseling and advocacy. Serving for 14 years as an adjunct professor of theology at HC- GOST, she also serves as co-founder and executive director of Saint Catherine’s Vision. Throughout her research-driven life of service, she authored the first comprehensive Orthodox study on the ordination of women deacons, now a field classic. Dr. FitzGerald is dedicated to the healing of others experiencing psychological trauma, addictions and bereavement, serving at mental health counseling centers in Massachusetts and the Paloma Christian Center for Psychology in Switzerland. In 2020, she was invited to join the Pastoral Counseling Services of the South Shore as a clinical psychologist, pastoral psychotherapist and educator. The first female seminarian to matriculate in the Greek Orthodox seminary, Dr. FitzGerald began her postgraduate life as co-director of the pastoral counseling office at HC-HCGOST in 1984. She taught as a visiting professor of pastoral theology at St. Vladimir’s Theological Seminary and the Bossey Ecumenical Institute in Switzerland, as well as a visiting professor at the Metropolitan Sheptytsky Institute of Eastern Christian Studies of the University of St. Michael’s College, University of Toronto. Dr. FitzGerald is an editorial board member of the International Journal for the Study of the Christian Church. In 1981, she was named to Outstanding Young Women of America, and was the 2016 HC-HCGOST Alumna of the Year. KYRIAKI A.
