313 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine specialist in cytometry. Since 2018, Dr. Zhao has worked as a medical lab scientist at the Houston Methodist Hospital, where he once began as a research associate. From 2011 to 2013, he was a research fellow at the Boston Children’s Hospital and the Harvard Medical School’s Immune Disease Institute. He commenced his work as a research assistant within the department of entomology and plant pathology at Oklahoma State. Dr. Zhao chose to become a medical lab scientist for greater opportunity in getting access to apply his findings into patient clinical research. Currently waiting for approval for a patent, Dr. Zhao continues to conduct research and is focused on the comparison of diseases. Notably, he was the first researcher to provide direct evidence to a controversial theory in the insect immunology field dating back 30 years ago. With his invention in nanomaterial and drug delivery, his work may bring changes to chemotherapy and vaccinations. He calls this field contribution the greatest highlight of his career. Dr. Zhao attributes much of his success to his mentor, Dr. Todd Eager, who is an assistant professor of pathology and genomicmedicine for the Institute for Academic Medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital. Committed to improving the standards of practice in bioscience research alongside Dr. Eager, the pair are working on strategies to refine the efficiency in problem solving and working station time. Dr. Zhao says that while working in science, it imperative to always think of future steps to take in the process of research. Looking toward the future, he intends to experience the continued growth and success of his career, as well as the growth of his family and children. Outside of his work in the medical field, Dr. Zhao has been a soccer coach and school bus driver. His hobbies include soccer, coaching and seeing his children flourish. I n 2001, Dr. Picheng Zhao received a BE in biomedical and medical engineering from the East China University of Science and Technology in his native China. Upon arrival to the United States, he soon achieved a PhD from the Oklahoma State University in 2010. Backed by discovery and inventions in the bioscience field, Dr. Zhao is a SCYM(ASCP)CM PICHENG ZHAO MEDICAL LAB SCIENTIST Houston Methodist Hospital Houston, TX SCIENCES, PHARMACEUTICALS AND BIOTECHNOLOGY
