H.M. “Skip” Kingston received a BS in chemistry and MS in analytical chemistry, both from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In 1978, he earned a PhD in analytical chemistry and environmental science and management from American University. Renowned for conducting research in isotopic mass spectrometry and its application as medical assessment biomarker quantification and diagnostics in environmentally-related health and homeland security measurement protocols, he invented Speciated Isotope Dilution Mass Spectrometry (SIDMS), patented in 1974. Since 1991, Dr. Kingston has been a professor of analytical chemistry at Duquesne University. In 2003, he served as chief technical scientist at Applied Isotopes Technologies, Inc., a corporation developing his patented technologies, and continues as scientific advisor. He is founder of the Consortium on Automated Analytical Laboratory Systems at the NIST. He was an IEEE-sponsored Congressional Science Fellow in the U.S. House of Representatives. Dr. Kingston was awarded the 2009 Kaufman Award, having previously earned three R&D 100 Awards for the invention of Chelation Ion Chromatography, Microwave-Enhanced Chemistry and SIDMS. PROFESSOR, CHEMIST Duquesne University Pittsburgh, PA KEITH LIDDELL JOHNSON K eith Liddell Johnson received a BA from the University of Michigan in 1960 and was later certified in international business by California State University, Fullerton in 1990. For more than 40 years, Mr. Johnson has been a proprietor of KJ Technical Directions. Notably, he holds 17 U.S. and foreign patents and has contributed to 25 scientific publications. Previously, Mr. Johnson was a chemical technician at Ajem Laboratories in Michigan from 1956 to 1960. Between 1960 and 1974, he worked at Swift & Co. in Chicago as a research chemist, project manager, group leader of the R&D Center, administrative assistant to the executive vice president, quality assurance director, groupmanager of plant quality assurance, quality assurance manager of the refinery division and corporate quality assurance manager. Additionally, between 1982 and 2005, he worked at Fox & Co. in Los Angeles as a technical director, branch and general manager, executive vice president, president, director, vice chairman and chief technical officer.
