333 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine A fter being introduced to computer programming courses in high school, Lawrence “Larry” McPhail purchased a used TRS-80 Model I, officially commencing his technology career. Today, he is the executive director of the New Nonprofit Institute and a technology consultant with Priority IT LLC, as well as a minister, director and founder of the Universal Life Church of New Jersey since 2018. Prior to his current roles, Mr. McPhail was president of Sussex Tech PTA from 2014 to 2019, senior systems engineer at Atlantic Technology Systems from 2010 to 2019, and a system administrative analyst at Dell for two years. He spent 2003 to 2007 with Tellurian Networks as a technical support manager and network engineer, as well as three years with Sussex Community College as a Cisco regional academy coordinator and CCE coordinator of technology. In his earlier years, Mr. McPhail was vice president of sales and marketing and a software engineer with the Westech Corporation from 1987 to 2000 and a member of the Citigroup Global Help Desk for Butler International in 2001. Mr. McPhail kick-started his career in 1983 as the chief executive officer and captain of the Sparta Ambulance Service, which he notably did until 2009. He became an emergency medical technician after the passing of a childhood friend, resulting in a 30-year service career. Today, he is president and chairman of the board of trustees for the Glenwood Pochuck Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the New Jersey Fair Play Vernon Vipers. He is also a member of the board and safety and information officer for Vernon Little League Baseball. Mr. McPhail received a BS in management science from Southern Methodist University in 1988 and an MBSE in architecture and systems engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2020. He is on track to obtain his MBA by 2021 from the University of the People. In five years’ time, Mr. McPhail plans to turn the NJMS project into an important method of preserving the histories and traditions of volunteer EMS, and also wishes to set up a billing service for volunteer EMS squads.
