MADRID CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER Latino Business Action Network Palo Alto, CA Since 2017, Mr. Madrid has served as the chief executive officer of the Latino Business Action Network (LBAN), which collaborates with Stanford Graduate School of Business to champion the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative. He is now working on an American economic imperative, as LBAN’s goal is to double the number of $10+ million, $100+ million, $1+ billion Latinx businesses in the United States by 2025. Mr. Madrid is now living his legacy and influencing an important narrative positioning Latinos in the U.S. as prominent drivers of the American economy and significant contributors to the fabric of American society. Mr. Madrid received a BBA in accounting, with honors, from the University of Texas at Austin in 1995 and a Master in Nonprofit Administration, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business in 2015. At the inception of his career in 1994, he worked on Wall Street as an internal management consultant for JP Morgan, and from 1997 to 2005, he was a national marketing director at Guaranty Bank. Mr. Madrid has also worked at the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as chief operating officer and the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as president and chief executive officer. Notably, Mr. Madrid was named the 2019 Silicon Valley Nonprofit CEO of the Year by the Silicon Valley Business Journal. He is a recipient of the Jefferson Award, Community Emerging Legacy Award from University of Texas at Austin’s Division of Diversity and Community Engagement, the Extra Mile Award from American Airlines and the Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh, and CSC Founder’s Award from the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Madrid is an official member of the Forbes Nonprofit Council and an Honorary Colonel of the U.S. Army. A s a former prominent Wall Street banker, Mark L. Madrid — after shuttering a bank during the Great Recession — activated soul-searching to discover his purpose in life.
