188 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY HISTORIAN Chautauqua County, New York Historians Cassadaga, NY A devoted member of his community, John Francis Sipos Jr. was appointed 15 years ago as the historian for the Village of Cassadaga, New York, and three years ago, appointed as the historian of the Town of Stockton, New York. Previously, he was a mathematics department chairman and teacher at the Frontier Central School District in Hamburg, New York, and was the coordinator of the junior high school’s gifted and talented program. Mr. Sipos remains involved in civic engagements, and is the current vice president of Meals on Wheels, as well as the current advisor to the Cassadaga Cemetery Association and historian for the Thule Lodge Swedish Organization. Additionally, he is the parade marshal at the annual Cassadaga Memorial Day Parade. He is supported by a BS in mathematics from SUNY at Geneseo and an MS in mathematics from SUNY at Fredonia. In 2015, Mr. Sipos was the recipient of the National Community Service Award from the Jamestown chapter of the National Daughters of the American Revolution. The Cassadaga Valley Kiwanis named him Kiwanian of the Year in 2005, and in 1995, he was selected as Outstanding Teacher of the Year. JOHN FRANCIS SIPOS JR.
