195 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine CAROLYN MAY BOLANDER NURSE, EDUCATOR (RETIRED) Collegiate Publication & Research Network Winter Haven, FL School of Nursing in 1964 and a BSN from Mary Manse College in 1972. She also achieved an MEd from Xavier University in 1977 and an MSN from the University of Cincinnati in 1985. Ms. Bolander commenced her career as an assistant instructor at Maumee Valley Hospital School of Nursing in 1964 and then went from an instructor to education coordinator at the Lake View Memorial Hospital School of Nursing between 1967 and 1972. She then served as a nursing instructor at the Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing from 1972 to 1975, and from 1998 to 2001, as an associate professor at Good Samaritan College. She also served as a nursing instructor at the Jewish Hospital School of Nursing from 1975 to 1988. From 1990 to 1995, she was a nursing instructor in the Practical Nursing Program at Great Oaks Career and Technical Center. Ms. Bolander was an associate professor of the x-ray technician program at Xavier University from 1985 to 1989 and then a program coordinator at Kenwood Terrace Nursing Center for one year. From 1990 to 1993, she was a consultant for the Ohio Board of Nursing, and from 1994 until her retirement in 2001, she was an associate at the Collegiate Publication & Research Network in Indianapolis. Holding a deep connection to her faith, success to Ms. Bolander is having a relationship with the Lord. She believes the most rewarding aspect of her profession is the response students have to her teaching, as well as patients’ responses to care. Ms. Bolander is a member of the National League for Nursing. She advises others to do the best that you can and get as much experience possible while you are a student so that the world appears less daunting upon graduation. Looking forward, she intends to continue enjoying her well-deserved retirement. A fter working through multiple health issues as a child, Carolyn May Bolander wanted to help others the way she had been helped. By pursuing a career in nursing, she fulfilled her dream, as well as later taught the subject to the nurses of tomorrow. Ms. Bolander received a diploma from the Maumee Valley Hospital HEALTH AND WELLNESS
