203 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine DAVID M. DRESSLER, MD PSYCHIATRIST Roxbury, CT in 1964. He completed an internship at the San Francisco General Hospital in 1965, a residency at Strong Memorial Hospital in 1968 and a fellowship at Yale University in 1969. He is also a 1992 graduate of the C.G. Jung Institute of New York. Dr. Dressler has worked out of a private practice in Roxbury, Connecticut, since 1992. He commenced his career in 1969 as an assistant professor of psychiatry at Yale University until 1973. From 1973 to 1992, he served as an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, as well as chief of psychiatry at the New Britain General Hospital. Dr. Dressler is the author of the 2019 pamphlet “Guidelines for a Productive, Meaningful and Fulfilling Life: Practical Wisdom Gained from 50 Years of Clinical Practice and 80 Years of Life Experience and Self-Reflection.” Dr. Dressler is a distinguished life fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, a member of the Connecticut State Medical Society, and diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Notably, in 2019 he was named to Top Doctors’ “Top Psychiatrists” in Connecticut, and he attributes his success to personal integrity, emotional relatedness, commitment and perseverance. He considers his greatest accomplishments to be helping patients achieve their highest potentials. Coming from a family of immigrants, Dr. Dressler’s parents instilled in him the importance to pay back society for the opportunities he had been given. He lives seriously by the sentiment, and last year purchased a house for one of his patients. He is a strong believer in alignment with the universe, and urges all to take life in stride. At the age of 40, Dr. Dressler chose to be a Jungian analyst after reading Carl Jung’s “Modern Man in Search of a Soul.” A s a senior in college, Dr. David M. Dressler was having doubts about attending graduate school for chemistry. But after dreaming of a career as a psychiatrist, he trusted his instinct and formally pursued the field.
