246 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine PHYSICIAN Allegheny Health Network Glenshaw, PA I n deciding on a profession, Dr. Ravi K. Ved’s greatest goal was to work with people who held the same deep passion for sports he did while growing up as a high school and college athlete. A physician with the Allegheny Health Network in Pennsylvania, Dr. Ved tells his patients, “We don’t stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.” Dr. Ved received an MD from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at the Allegheny Health Network Medical Education Consortium. He attributes his success to the great mentors he had during his residency, including Dr. Edward Snell, a sports medicine physician, and Anastasias Kapatana, an internal medicine program director. Dr. Ved is involved with the Pittsburgh Ultimate Community in his spare time outside of medical work. Looking toward the future, he would like to grow as a physician and expand the clinic with the help of other athletes. The advice he can offer the next generation of physicians is to get exposure, keep all possible opportunities open, and figure out your subspecialty early on. RAVI K. VED, MD JOSHUA A. TOBIN, MD D r.
