Wilt’s fascination with physiology led him to achieve his MD in 1988 from the University of Michigan. Since 2009, he has served as the director of medical critical care and chief of critical care at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and he is also the director of pulmonary and critical care, as well as an associate clinical professor of medicine at the Western Michigan University School of Medicine. From 1995 to 2007, Dr. Wilt worked out of a private practice. Over the years, he also served St. Mary’s Hospital as assistant director of the internal medicine residency program and Blodgett Memorial Medical Center as assistant director of the medical intensive care unit, co-director of the transitional residency and COO of the internal medicine residency. Dr. Wilt is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of Chest Physicians, of which he was the National Clinical Vignette winner in 1991 and received the Young Investigators Award in 1993.
