Mr. Gottlieb received a BA, summa cum laude, from Columbia University in 1976 and went on to obtain a JD from Harvard University in 1980. Notably, he was the recipient of the 2001 Helen Geisness Award for Exemplary and Distinguished Service from the King County Bar Association and the 1990 Achievement Award from the Seattle- King County Economic Development Council. Mr. Gottlieb has also been named to the 2019 edition of Best Lawyers in America and as an AV Preeminent Lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell. Prior to his current role, Mr. Gottlieb was an associate at Riddell, Williams, Bullit & Walkinshaw from 1980 to 1986. He was promoted to partner in 1986 and spent nine years at the firm before serving as principal at Graham & James LLP/Riddell Williams P.S. From 1997 to 2013, he was a member and owner of Gottlieb Fisher PLLC. Additionally, he is the co-author of “Tax-Exempt Bond Financing and Long Term Financing,” Chapter 22 in the 2019 Third Edition of the Washington Health Law Manual. Mr. Gottlieb is a member of the American Bar Association, National Association of Bond Lawyers, Washington State Bar Association, King County Bar Association, Washington State Association of Municipal Attorneys, and Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys. Originally pursuing a career as an Egyptologist, Mr. Gottlieb was eventually influenced by his lawyer parents and never looked back. An avid musician, Mr. Gottlieb is a tuba player and has played with the Seattle Symphonic Band for more than 35 years; it is an important side of him that he believes keeps him balanced.
