274 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine I n 1971, Timothy Edward Kruszynski received a Bachelor of Science in psychology from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. Upon his graduation, Mr. Kruszynski’s goal was to find a job related to psychology, but unfortunately found some difficulty. After much searching, he began looking for positions within law enforcement, as he felt that psychology and law had many overlaps which he could leverage through his rigorous years of study. After working as a general duties clerk for Continental Bank from 1971 to 1976, Mr. Kruszynski worked for Ernst & Co., a stockbroking company, as a messenger for two years. In 1978, Mr. Kruszynski broke into the world of law enforcement as a corrections officer for Cook County in Chicago. He served in that role for 21 years, while also serving as a sergeant from 1992 to 1999. Mr. Kruszynski retired in 1999 after a distinguished career protecting and serving Cook County. In his post-retirement career, Mr. Kruszynski focused his attention on his second love of poetry. He has been writing poetry since 1989, and even wrote poems for the doctors of the Franciscan Health Center in Olympia Fields, Illinois. Notably, in 2000, Mr. Kruszynski was named International Poet of Merit by the International Society of Poets in Washington, D.C. Additionally, Mr. Kruszynski was a supporter of the Democratic National Committee. Looking back on his career, Mr. Kruszynski’s highlight was being promoted throughout the years due to his dedication and constant hardworking nature. He says he owes much credit to the mentor who motivated and inspired him, Rabbi Pesach Greenberg, who also taught him metaphysics. Additionally, Mr. Kruszynski attributes his career success to his father, Edward Michael Kruszynski, who was a steel worker and taught him the meaning of hard work and being a valuable asset to a team. To honor his father, Mr. Kruszynski keeps a blob of steel that he painted blue in his home. Looking forward, he intends to experience the continued success of his post-retirement career in poetry.
