105 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine DENNIS DIXON MILLER, PHD BUCKHORN ENDOWED CHAIR IN ECONOMICS Baldwin Wallace University Olmsted Falls, OH and PhD in 1985, both from the University of Colorado. He also holds an honorary doctorate from Ternopil National Economy University in Ukraine. Today, his areas of interest are economic development – particularly within the Middle East, Ukraine and India – and environmental economics. Dr. Miller has served as the Buckhorn Endowed Chair at Baldwin Wallace University since 2010, as well as an economics professor since 1987. At the university, he has also taken on the roles of economics department acting chairman in 2015; social science division chair for the academic years of 2007-2008 and 2012- 2013; and economics department chair from 2007 to 2013. In the earlier years of his career, Dr. Miller was an economics instructor at the American University in Cairo, Egypt, from 1982 to 1984 and an international economist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for one year, mid- 1985 to mid-1986. An active researcher on energy policy and Middle Eastern oil, Dr. Miller has recently co- authored a book titled, “Oil, Institutions and Sustainability in MENA: A Radical Approach through the Empowerment of Citizens,” published by Springer International in 2020. Dr. Miller is treasurer of the Northeast Ohio chapter of the Fulbright Association. He was a guest instructor at the University of Mumbai’s Mithibai College in 1991. He formerly reviewed newly released books for Choice Magazine from 1985 to 2012. He was awarded two separate Fulbright Teaching Scholarships, from 1999 to 2000 and 2004 to 2005, to teach at the Ternopil Economic University in Ukraine. He is a member of the American Economics Association, the Cleveland Council on World Affairs, the Sierra Club and The Nature Conservancy. He was awarded an Earhart Foundation Fellowship while in graduate school. A strong envi ronmental i st , Dr. Dennis Dixon Miller founded the environmental organization on his college campus and was involved in corporate legal suites with the help of Congressman Henry Reuss, introducing him to the policy world. Dr. Miller received a BA in 1972 from Heidelberg University, and an MA in 1979 EDUCATION
