91 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION she earned a BA from California State College in Los Angeles in 1964 and completed postgraduate coursework at Northridge State College. At the inception of her career in 1961, Ms. Robles served as a playground supervisor for the Los Angeles City Schools for three years before begin- ning her tenure at the Montebello Unified School District in 1964. Serving as an elementary school teacher, she has truly valued her time spent in education and hasmade unbreakable connections with her students, who often send her Christmas cards and invite her to weddings, graduations and confirmations. A humbled individual, Ms. Robles genuinely loved her students and would often visit their houses to tutor them. Post-retirement, Ms. Robles has continued to serve as a school site representative and faculty club chair of the Parent-Teacher Association at La Merced Elementary School. Previously, she served as a representative of the Montebello Credit Union and Bilingual Committee, as well as a union rep- resentative for the Montebello Unified School District. For three years, she further served as chair of the School Site Council. A past president, program vice president and cultural chair of the American Association of University Women, Ms. Robles has also served Delta Kappa Gamma as secretary, recording secretary and president. As a testament to her success, Ms. Robles received an Honorary Service Award from the Parent-Teacher Association in 1979, an Honorary Service Continuing Award in 1982 and a Golden Oak Award in 1995. Upon her teaching retirement, she earned a 45-Year Pin from the Montebello Unified School District. Outside of her professional work, Ms. Robles is a Eucharistic minister of her local church, she has been instrumental in its holiday decor, and donates time to making baskets for needy families. She is the proud mother to Gregory, Eric, Karen and Cassandra. A n elementary school educator of 45 years, Rosalie Miranda Robles has exemplified longevity throughout her career, coupled with her passion for teaching and helping others. Inspired by her own kindergarten teacher growing up, she was encouraged by her parents to pursue an education and her chosen career path.
