New York, NY PROFESSOR OF SOCIAL ANTHROPOLOGY (RETIRED) Yeditepe University Reno, NV RONALD E. BERENBEIM A n alumnus of Cornell University, Ronald E. Berenbeim graduated cum laude with BA in 1966, followed by a BA and MA from the University of Oxford in 1968 and 1971, respectively. He also earned a JD from Harvard University in 1971, and was admitted to the State Bars of Massachusetts and Washington. Mr. Berenbeim was employed by The Conference Board, Inc., in New York for 33 years, culminating in his role as senior fellow in 2010. At the inception of his career in 1971, he was an attorney for the National Labor Relations Board in Seattle for two years. In 1995, as an Adjunct Professor at the Stern School of Business Administration, New York University, he participated in the formulation of the Markets, Ethics and Law program, which later became a mandatory course for business students. He served as Co-Facilitator of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education Anti-Corruption Working Group, which included scholars worldwide. Mr. Berenbeim was listed among the Top 100 Thought Leaders in Trustworthy Business Behavior by Trust Across America in 2010 and 2011. D r. Jay Courtney Fikes, a social sciences educator, served as professor of social anthropology at Yeditepe University in Istanbul from 1998 to 2016, when he retired. He completed original research among the Huichol people of Mexico from 1976 to 2010. His latest fieldwork involved making pilgrimages to Huichol holy places with the Shaman, Jesús González. Dr. Fikes’ forthcoming book “Beyond Peyote: Kieri and the Huichol Deer Shaman” presents González’s biography and clarified why Huichol shamans are dedicated to honesty, compassion and service. Knowledge Dr. Fikes gained while obtaining his BA in comparative culture fromtheUniversityof California Irvine,MEd inbilingual education from the University of San Diego, andMA and PhD in anthropology from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor enabled him to write or edit six books. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Smithsonian Institution and a Friends Committee on National Legislation lobbyist, whose efforts in passing federal legislation protecting the Native American Church were honored with a Certificate of Recognition in 1994.
