Gene Marsolek Co., Inc., a manufacturing company. Between 1961 and 1974, he was a manufacturing representative at John Brickell Co. and manager of Marsolek’s Hardware & Appliance Store, his father’s business. Notably, Mr. Marsolek served with the Colorado Air National Guard in Korea and was a student at the University of Colorado in 1965. With his website, www.stoptobaccofarming.com , Mr. Marsolek is passionate about putting a stop to the 500,000 people per year that die and the 16 million suffering from tobacco-related diseases. His wife Judith passed away from tobacco-related diseases, and he has vowed to push “Judy’s Law” to end tobacco farming. Of his multiple endeavors, Mr. Marsolek is very proud of a German company that he helped build in the United States, titled JADO Company. Sehyun Nam was inspired to enter the field of engineering by his father, who was also a chemical engineer and top executive, and served as an inspiration to him throughout his life and career. A native of Seoul, Korea, Dr. Nam attended Seoul National University and earned a BS in applied chemistry. Immigrating to the U.S. in 1973, he also holds an MS in chemical engineering from Oregon State University, MSE in materials and metallurgical engineering from the University of Michigan, and PhD in polymer engineering from the University of Tennessee. Since 2017, Dr. Nam has been the senior vice president of Bushitol Corp. in Massachusetts. Prior career endeavors include multiple roles at 3M Co., including senior engineer, research specialist, advanced, and senior research specialist and corporate rheologist. He is proudest of serving as a consultant with companies and universities, where he helped others in understanding polymer engineering. The holder of 12 patents, Dr. Nam has contributed 25 articles to scientific journals and has been an executive councilor of the Korean Society of Minnesota since 2001.
