Hailing from a family of entrepreneurs, Ms. Huston has boasted an innate ability to manage others over the course of her longitudinal career in owning and running several hair salons. A former manager of the Blue Door Salon in Sacramento, California, she also managed Supercuts in Carmichael, California, and was the district manager for Duke Concepts. Likewise, she was a business development and training manager at Redken in New York City and owned the Shadze Color Salon in Las Vegas, among several other salons. Ms. Huston has volunteered for several fashion shows for charities and is a strong advocate for children who have been displaced from their homes. Demonstrating versatility in her profession, she was also a contributing writer for Lavish Living Magazine in 2014 and 2015 and submitted an article to Modern Salon Magazine. Ms. Huston is backed by vocational training in cosmetology and remains an active member of the Professional Beauty Association. The recipient of the Best of the Burbs Award, Ms. Huston was on the front cover of Salon Today Magazine for an editorial article written on healthy hairdresser habits. Likewise, her salon Adagio for Hair was voted Best Hair Salon from 2015 to 2019. Despite these lauded achievements, Ms. Huston notes that building her salon into a $1.2 million company in five years was a pivotal crowning accomplishment. She also values the work she completed with Redken, as that was the time in which her career skyrocketed. Looking toward the future, Ms. Huston intends to step down from her role and pass the torch to another talented stylist. She would also like to run a program that offers education opportunities to teach individuals how to be successful owning and running a hair salon.
