148 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENTREPRENEURS T he owner of the antique business Class Menagerie in Bolton Landing, New York, since 1969, Bob Veder has demonstrated several skill sets throughout the course of his longitudinal career. Formerly in the advertising business upon his graduation from college with a degree in English literature, he was inspired by his Creative Director at the time, Larry Plapler, who motivated him to be an excellent copywriter. Alongside his immediate profession in advertising, Mr. Veder pursued creative writing and has published more than 20 short stories in various literary quarterlies. He also authored his first book, “Playing with Fire,” in the 1970s. Intertwined with his advertising career, as well as with his creative pursuits in literature, Mr. Veder pursued the antiques industry, in which he buys and sells classic antiques. Noting that his work style has always been just and honest, he is renowned for his ability to negotiate fairly and come to an equitable agreement among his clients. He deals primarily with vintage original posters of World Wars I and II, as well as Wild West posters, travel posters, early country store advertising paper and tin signs, carousel figures and ship figureheads, among several other vintage, antique and unique items. A veteran of the United States Navy, Mr. Veder dedicated 35 years to advertising and more than 50 years in antique dealing. He attributes his success to his ability to showcase his creativity in all of his endeavors. To date, Mr. Veder has more than 15 unpublished novels and plays that he intends to release in the foreseeable future. Mr. Veder has been married to his wife Tina for 30 years; she is prominent for being one of the best restorers of carousel animals across the United States. Currently, she is in the live horse business, where she trains, buys and sells horses on her farm in Ocala, Florida, including Andalusian and Lusitano horses. They also have four children and four grandchildren. Looking forward the future, Mr. Veder intends to experience the continued success of his career, as well as publish more books and plays to display his creative flair.
