Prior to these appointments, Dr. Rogers served Liberty Corp. as a regional sales manager for six years, as well as Metropolitan Life as a regional salesmanager, district salesmanager and sales representative beginning in 1969. To prepare for his career, Dr. Rogers pursued formal education at Clemson University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in 1964 and 1966, respectively. After accruing several years in his profession, he returned to college at La Salle University, where he obtained a PhD in finance management in 1994. He has been a chartered life underwriter since 1973 and a chartered financial consultant since 1984, as well as a registered securities representative with Royal Alliance Associates since 1986. Lending his expertise to academia, Dr. Rogers has been an adjunct professor at Webster University in St. Louis since 1994. Drawing upon a background in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserves, he attained the rank of captain and notably served in Vietnam. He retired from the reserves in 1975. In recognition of his accomplishments in the military, he earned a Decorated Bronze Star, Army Air Medal and Army Commendation Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster. Emphasizing that the most rewarding aspect of his career has been the friendships he has garnered over the years, Dr. Rogers also earned the Loren Dunton Memorial Award in 2015 for his contributions to the financial industry. He is a member of the Million Dollar Roundtable, former vice president of the National Association of Life Underwriters, former president of Rotary International and former South Carolina president of Gideons International. Married to Jeanette Rogers since 1962, Dr. Rogers has three children and 10 grandchildren. He enjoys photography, golfing, theatre, reading and traveling in his spare time. Rogers has been excelling as chief executive officer and chairman of the board of Rogers Financial Group, LLC, in Greenville, South Carolina, since 1989.
