173 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY E ntering the U.S. Army in 1964 during the height of the VietnamWar, N.E. Threat served in active duty for nearly 29 years, where he was stationed in Vietnam, Japan, Panama and the United States. Advancing through the grades to command sergeant major, he retired from active duty in 1987. During his military tenure, he was stationed at the U.S. Army Information Systems Command Signal Battalion at Fort Buckner in Okinawa, Japan, for five years, then traveled to New Mexico in White Sands at the U.S. Army Information Systems for two years. He was also stationed in Wesel, Germany, as station commander of the Hamminkeln Radio Station for five years. For the following three years, Mr. Threat was stationed at the 1109 th Signal Brigade in Fort Clayton, Panama, for Operation Just Cause before serving at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, at the U.S. Army Information Systems Engineering Command between 1990 and 1993. Accruing 42 years total in working for the U.S. Army, he subsequently served in the Chief Electronic Services Branch at Fort McPherson, Georgia, from 1997 until his retirement in 2011. Enjoying the disassembling of electronics as a young boy, Mr. Threat initially entered the military due to the draft and as a result, he had the pleasure of traveling across the globe to various countries, installing electronics in Germany, the Middle East, and Central and South America, among other locations. Demonstrating versatility in his profession, Mr. Threat has been licensed to preach the gospel since 2005 and is also a licensed insurance representative for life, health and property. Furthermore, he is a licensed mutual funds representative in Tucson, Arizona. Likewise, he has dedicated his time and expertise to teaching American government and history to students throughout his career. Mr. Threat has been awarded the Decorated Legion of Merit with Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
