176 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY J effrey A. Seymour has a combined experience of over 40 years in both the public and private sectors. He served for 10 years as a senior deputy to former Los Angeles County Supervisor Edmund D. Edelman. Since 1984, he has represented a diverse portfolio of clients in two governmental relations consulting firms, Morey/Seymour & Associates and the Seymour Consulting Group. The firm’s clients include Netflix, AT&T Wireless Communications, Occidental College, Combined Properties Inc., Innovative Dining Inc., Soho House West Hollywood, Mani Brothers Real Estate Managers Inc., and Marriott International. Mr. Seymour has served on a number of public and private boards and committees, including as alumni regent on the Board of Regents of the University of California (UC) and as a member of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. He currently sits as chair of the UC Los Angeles Luskin School of Public Affairs Advisory Committee and as co-chair of the California Coalition for Public Higher Education Issues Committee. Mr. Seymour holds both a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration from UC Los Angeles. Additionally, he has been a senior education specialist in the Executive Education Division of the Federal Judicial Center since 1987. Attracted to political science in light of his interest in training federal judges, Dr. Siegel is the author of the book “The President as Leader,” with a second edition published in 2018. He has also contributed myriad articles to professional journals and previously served the American Jewish Congress as chairman of the Commission on International Affairs for five years. Dr. Siegel is proudest to have run a leadership development program for U.S. probation and pretrial services officers. Notably, 55% of the 120 current chief probation and pretrial services officers were graduates of his program. In recognition of his success, he was honored with an award in 1998. Likewise, he has been the recipient of several teaching recognition awards.
