Merritt has always exhibited an outgoing personality and, coupled with her passion for helping others, she decided to delve in the real estate industry. Employed as a real estate agent with Platinum Realty in Kansas since 1990, she enjoys finding her clients their dream homes. Ms. Merritt has always sought excellence in her personal and professional life, and she has always wanted to be the best individual she could be. Holding a Bachelor of Education from Huntington College and Master of Science in psychology from Goddard College, Ms. Merritt previously served as an elementary school and middle school teacher for 25 years. Most recently serving Argentine Middle School in Kansas City, Kansas, as a sixth, seventh and eighth grade teacher, she previously taught at such schools as Coronado Middle School, Rosedale Middle School, St. Joseph Parochial School, Lincoln Elementary School and Riverside Elementary School. Likewise, she was a kindergarten teacher in Raymore, Missouri, and counselor at the Wichita YMCA. Holding a real estate license and certifications to teach in Kansas and Missouri, Ms. Merritt has exemplified a diversified career path, all dedicated to her passion for helping others achieve their best selves. She is a former seminar leader at the Colonial Presbyterian Church in Kansas City and previously served as treasurer and president of the Squire Park Neighborhood Association. Ms. Merritt has been featured twice on the cover of the Kansas City Star publication and prides herself on her ability to help inner-city neighborhoods safe by getting rid of crime and helping people of color find clean, affordable homes. She attributes her success to her persistence and inability to give up in the face of struggle with the power from God. She has maintained affiliation with the Kansas Real Estate Commission, National Education Association and Greenbriar Homes Association.
