Board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and licensed in the States of Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and California, Dr. El-Kadi has also been a clinical professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine since 2006. He is a former clinical associate professor and assistant professor of neurosurgery, and a presenter and evaluator in the field. Drawing upon an MD from the Second Moscow State Pirogov Medical Institute in Russia in 1983 and Residency and PhD from Burdenko Neurosurgical Institute in Moscow in 1988, Dr. El-Kadi has undergone fellowships at the University of Southern California Medical Center-Los Angeles and the University of Connecticut. He also finished another residency at West Virginia University. He is a grantee, has published a book on chronic subdural hematoma, and has contributed chapters to books, as well as abstracts, posters and articles in professional journals, such as Contemporary Neurosurgery, Contemporary Spine Surgery, Operative Techniques in Neurosurgery, the Journal of Spinal Disorders and Techniques, and the Journal of Neurosurgery.
