Likewise, she was a 25-year owner of Earthwalk-USA, a name derived from Native American tradition from when she was mentored by seven grandmothers of the Seneca nation, who taught her earth medicine. She has since become a specialist in holistic health. An equally talented writer, Dr. Gangi has authored more than 20 books across various genres. In 2018, she published the first of her series of memoirs, “Humanity: An American Memoir,” telling the story of her life. Prior books to her credit include several biographies of Mary Jemison, as well as “Forget the Cures, Find the Cause.” Her books have been translated into several languages, and can be purchased on Amazon.com and in Barnes & Noble stores. In recognition of her success, Dr. Gangi was named VIP Woman of the Year by the National Association of Women Professionals in 2015. She holds a PhD from the University of Arizona. I nterested in writing from a young age, Dr. Rayna M. Gangi was a columnist for her local newspaper during high school. After learning about the ongoing Vietnam War, she decided to join the military in order to write about Vietnam. Enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1968, she attained the rank of lance corporal upon her discharge in 1971. While in the military, Dr. Gangi attended school for electron- ics and was subsequently assigned to IBM Corp. as a computer engineer between 1971 and 1976. While studying towards a bachelor’s degree in American studies, Dr. Gangi was a computer specialist at the University at Buffalo from1976 to 1983, having attained a BA in 1979. Exemplifying her diversified career path, she then served as a site engineer for Timeplex, Inc., from 1984 to 1985 before becoming the vice president of data communications for Clarity Research, Inc., from 1985 to 1988 and a financial planner for IDS Financial Services, Inc., from 1986 to 1989. Since 1989, Dr. Gangi has served as the president of her own consulting firm, RMG Financial Services, in Buffalo, New York. In her position as a financial planner, she is known RAYNA M.
