196 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS After serving three years with Fellowship Village in Inwood, Iowa, Miss Jacobs ended her career while working at GrapeTree Medical Staffing for 10 years until her retirement in 2019. Looking back on her career, Miss Jacobs calls the restorative therapy she did with the Rock Rapids Health Center an amazing experience. She gives much gratitude to the mentors who motivated and inspired her over the years, including her mother, Mary Ellen, who was a registered nurse, and Helen Parish. In addition to her nursing career, Miss Jacobs is the author of the 2004 work “Together We Can.” In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, playing the piano, cross stitching, needlepoint and gardening. Miss Jacobs and her career accomplishments are also within the distinguished 53 rd through 57 th editions of Who’s Who in America, third edition of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare and 20 th edition of Who’s Who of American Women. I n 1976, Patricia Louise Jacobs received her Nurse Aide Certificate from Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City, Iowa, opening the door for her to explore her calling throughout the country. Miss Jacobs has worked in Iowa, Nevada, South Dakota and more, and wherever she practiced, she stood by her core value: to take care of people who cannot take care of themselves. She lives by the mantra, “You are there for them. Period.” Miss Jacobs’ career as a nurse assistant commenced in 1976 in Onawa, Iowa, and from 1977 to 1979, she worked in Sioux City with the Tommy Dale Development Center. She then worked in Las Vegas in 1979 and 1980 with Beverly Enterprises, where she found her confidence while working for in-services. To continue honing her skills, she headed back to Iowa, where she worked for Kimberly Nursing and Hillhaven in West Des Moines from 1983 to 1986. She then returned to Sioux City, where she worked for Sunrise Manor from 1988 to 1989, Countryside Retirement Home from 1989 to 1991 and Julia’s Valley Manor from 1991 to 1993.
