200 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS A ttracted to the fields of medicine and pharmacology in light of his interest in how the human body operates, as well as how diseases and drugs interact with the body, Dr. Kenneth C. Lasseter has been the vice president and medical director of Clinical Pharmacology of Miami, Inc., in Hialeah, Florida, since 2007. Prior to this appointment, he was vice president and medical director of SFBC International from 2003 to 2006 and of Clinical Pharmacology Association from 1981 to 2003. Lending his expertise to academia as well, Dr. Lasseter has also served as an adjunct associate professor of pharmacology at Barry University since 1986. Concurrent to this role, he was a clinical associate professor at the University of Miami Medical School between 1981 and 2010, having formerly served the medical school as an assistant professor and associate professor of pharmacology and medicine from 1971 to 1981. A diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Pharmacology, Dr. Lasseter first earned a Bachelor of Science from Stetson University in 1963 before obtaining an MD from the University of Florida in 1967. From 1967 to 1971, he served as an intern and resident in medicine at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Subsequent to his medical training, he served as a captain in the Marine Corps and U.S. Army Reserve for the following five years. Notably, Dr. Lasseter is a fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology, as well as a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, and Sigma Xi, among others. He has been a contributor to myriad professional journals within his area of expertise and was impressively involved in approximately 60 new drugs that were introduced to the market. He has also conducted research on the effects of diabetes drugs on the heart, including work regarding cardiac arrhythmia. As a testament to his success, Dr. Lasseter was the recipient of theWilliam B. Peck Science Research Award from the Interstate Postgraduate Medical Association in 1976 and Research Award from Alpha Omega Alpha in 1967. KENNETH C.
