Drawing upon an MD from the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa from 1984, Dr. McGregor is the director of the Neurosurgery Gamma Knife Radiosurgery Program and has been rated in the Top 10% of Physicians of the Nation. Named a Best Doctor in America in 2019 as well, he has contributed approximately 50 publications, such as articles to professional journals and five book chapters. Dr. McGregor is a past president of the Ohio State Neurosurgical Society and co-chairs the neurosciences institute quality management committee of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Philanthropically involved as well, he maintains affiliation with the Children’s International Summer Villages, an independent nonprofit organization that sponsors multicultural summer camps for teenagers and adolescents. As a testament to his success and prowess in neurosurgery, Dr. McGregor was named a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He attributes his success to his many mentors over the course of his medical training and professional career, as well as his family, who consist of myriad doctors, nurses and health care providers. Through his family, Dr. McGregor has witnessed firsthand the value of hard work and compassion. The most rewarding aspect of Dr. McGregor’s career has been working with several talented and enthusiastic colleagues. Noting that he desired to delve into a field that was challenging, yet rewarding, he decided to pursue medical education in an effort to utilize his skills in the sciences and help patients. S pecializing in the surgical management of patients with brain tumors associated with cerebral spine pathologies, including such conditions as hydrocephalus and Chiari malformation, Dr. John M.
