213 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS W orking out of Biloxi, Mississippi, for the majority of her career, Dr. Jennifer Ann Sutton is a distinguished veterinarian and hospital executive who has been serving as partner of the Gulf Coast Veterinary Emergency Hospital since 2002. During this appointment, she has also simultaneously served as a partner and veterinarian of the Beach View Veterinary Hospital since 2015. She has been licensed by the Mississippi and Louisiana Boards of Veterinary Medicine, and is accredited by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal Health and Inspection Service. Drawing upon a BS in biology fromMillsaps College, Dr. Sutton also holds a DVM from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. After obtaining a wealth of experience in her career, she returned to college and obtained an MBA from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. She earned a graduate certificate in teaching health care professions through Louisiana State University and is a certified veterinary practice manager through the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association. Desiring to work with animals since her undergraduate studies, Dr. Sutton has conducted lectures within her field for educational programs, including “Dogs vs. Cats: Their Amazing Sense of Smell,” as well as for the USM Office of Lifelong Learning Institute. Civically involved as well, she maintains membership with the Mississippi Animal Rescue Team, the USDA National Animal Emergency Response Corps, the Mississippi Crisis Response Network and the Mississippi Board of Animal Health. Dr. Sutton received the NSLS State of Mind Award from the State of Mississippi and the Director’s Coin of Excellence from the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency in 2019. Furthermore, she was listed among “100 Successful Women to Know” by Gulf Coast Woman’s Magazine in 2018 and 2019, earned the Karen Sock Woman of Achievement Award from Lighthouse Business and Professional Women in 2018, received the One Coast Community Leader Award in 2017, and was recognized as the “Queen of Court Appointed Special Advocates” by Hancock County, Mississippi, in 2013.
