22 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine G rowing up working for his father’s roofing business, Douglas L. Raboin began experiencing the complexities of the roofing industry from the age of 10. Born as one of nine children, Mr. Raboin has six brothers and two sisters: Irwin, Richard, William (Shane), Joseph, Thomas, John, Judith and Mary. After working diligently with his family’s business, Mr. Raboin sought to spearhead his own company, thus establishing The Twelfth Century Slate Roofing Company, Inc., in Burlington, Massachusetts. Excelling as chief executive officer for five decades, he is now semi-retired, as he takes on a few jobs per year. Specializing in the repair and maintenance of slate roofs, Mr. Raboin has maintained affiliation as a charter member with the Slate Roofing Contractors Association (spearheaded by Joe Jenkins and others), as well as a member of the National Slate Association and the Slate Valley Museum, in which he has a dedicated floor plaque. He has notably been highlighted in prominent publications such as The Slate Roof Bible (authored by Joe Jenkins), Yankee Magazine, the Yankee Home Magazine, the Old Home Journal, the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald. Additionally, he earned a Five-Star Rating from the Better Business Bureau, received a Super Service Award from Angie’s List, and listed as the Best of Burlington, Massachusetts, as well as the Best of Boston. Mr. Raboin attributes his immense success to his diligent work ethic, as well as his irrefutable knowledge of the roofing industry. Noting that he has spent his entire life revolved around the business, he boasts expertise that is unparalleled by others in the field. Looking toward the future, Mr. Raboin intends to continue working with The Twelfth Century Slate Roofing Company with his colleagues, as well as enjoy the benefits of his semi-retirement.
