D esiring to aid pregnant women, as well as protect unborn fetuses from the complications of delivery, Dr. Nikolaos Zacharias is an obstetrician, gynecologist, perinatologist and maternal fetal medicine specialist who has been serving MEDNAX/Obstetrix Medical Group of Houston since 2019. Beginning his medical training as a resident in obstetrics-gynecology at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 1998, he subsequently became a fellow in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. During his medical training, he was influenced by Prof. George Saade, his fellowship director who developed his interests in specific areas of maternal fetal medicine. At the inception of his career in 2005, Dr. Zacharias was the programdirector for the District of Prenatal Ultrasound Maternal Fetal Medicine at Harris County Hospital for seven years. During this time, he also lent his expertise to Ben Taub Hospital as medical director of the Maternal Fetal UltrasoundUnit for four years andwas an assistant professor at the Baylor College of Medicine for eight years.
