230 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HOSPITALITY AND LEISURE I nvolved in the tourism industry for nearly 40 years, Kathy Britt has been a quality assurance manager at Everglades Holiday Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, since 2018. Prior to this appointment, she served the park as a boat captain beginning in 1983. Everglades Holiday Park is a renowned South Florida alligator park designed for the entertainment of children and adults alike. Touring the Everglades on state-of-the-art airboats, visitors can view a live alligator presentation with the Gator Boys Alligator Rescue Team and explore the Everglades’ “River of Grass” within the comfortable confines of their spacious boats. The tours are one-hour long, providing visitors with an unforgettable experience. Alongside this venture, Ms. Britt was also a successful owner of her own exotic animal and alligator farm. Noted as a roadside zoo, she also displayed such wild animals as panthers, bobcats, bears, lemurs, peacocks, horses and bulls. Desiring to show visitors the native wildlife of Florida, she eventually sold the business to focus more on her work- related endeavors. Ms. Britt is a former member of the Brower County Air Boat Association, where she served as secretary for 15 years. Civically involved as well, she previously volunteered with the Wildlife Care Center, owned a bustling food truck and spent time as an alligator wrestler. She attributes her profound success to her empathy for others, social skills and background of working from a very young age. Following the mantra, “If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life,” she has thoroughly enjoyed her career path in providing endless entertainment and joy to others. Born on November 15, 1953 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Ms. Britt is the proud mother of two children, William and Jessica. She also has three grandchildren: Cody, Katie and Cali.
