234 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HOSPITALITY AND LEISURE H ailing from humble beginnings growing up on a West Virginian dairy farm, Bobby Pancake has climbed up the ladder to his current position in the hospitality industry. Today, he serves as chief executive officer of High 5 Hospitality, LLC, alongside his business partner, Steve Wheat. Starting out as a part-time cook and chicken cutter at Kentucky Fried Chicken, Mr. Pancake rose to the rank of regional manager within one decade and later served as senior director of company operations for Roasters Corporation for five years. Joining Buffalo Wild Wings, Inc., in 1997, he was subsequently promoted to senior director of company operations and oversaw 80 restaurants in 13 states in the early 2000s. Mr. Pancake became a franchisee of Buffalo Wild Wings in 2004, helping the brand grow from less than 50 locations to more than 1,200 today. High 5 Hospitality now owns the development rights for the State of Delaware and three counties in Maryland, and operates eight sports bars in those states. In addition, H5H opened the Stone Balloon Alehouse in Newark, Delaware, as well as Limestone BBQ and Bourbon. H5H also operates a franchise of Eggspectation in Christiana, Delaware. For their accomplishments, High 5 Hospitality and Mr. Pancake were named New Franchisee of the Year in 2005 and he received the Founders Award from Buffalo Wild Wings in 2009. Notably, the Small Business Administration honored Mr. Pancake with the National Entrepreneur Success Award in 2010. Soon thereafter, he received a formal invitation from former President Barack Obama to meet in the Oval Office. In 2011, High 5 Hospitality was named Restaurateur of the Year by the Delaware Restaurant Association and has been recognized as a Grand Prix Winner by Buffalo Wild Wings in 2009, 2015, 2017 and 2019. Other accolades to Mr. Pancake’s credit include his recognitions to the Keyser High School Legion of Honor and Delaware Business Times Fastest 50, both in 2020. Alongside his primary endeavors, Mr. Pancake serves as an honorary commander alumni at the Dover Air Force Base and as a civic leader for the Air Mobility Command of the U.S. Air Force.
