236 HOSPITALITY AND LEISURE Gold Medals at the Senior Olympic Games in Burlington, Vermont, and earned First Place in the long jump, triple jump and 100-meter dash for his age bracket of 80 to 84. Impressively, he has attended every National Senior Game since 1995 and jumped long enough to place fourth in the all-time history of the Senior Games. Named an All-American by the USA Track and Field, Mr. Whittemore earned Fourth Place and Second Place in the triple jump at the National Senior Olympics in 2013 and 2017, respectively. He also earned a Bronze Medal in the triple jump at the 2011 National Senior Games in Humble, Texas. Holding the record for the most consecutive days gone running in Claremont, he has further completed myriad 5K and 10K races and holds a master’s All-American certification. Mr. Whittemore is the recipient of a BSBA from Hawthorne College, obtained in 1984. Married to his wife Lois, he has one daughter, Deborah. In his spare time, he enjoys playing chess and reading. D iversified in his two career paths, com- puter programming and athletics, Ronald C. Whittemore is an accom- plished Senior Olympian as well as a talented analyst. At the inception of his career in 1966, he served Cross Co. in Vermont as a computer programmer for two years before becoming a senior programmer for Joy Manufac- turing in New Hampshire from 1968 to 1973. For the following six years, he served Computac LLC in NewHampshire as a senior programmer before landing his current position as a programming manager for Datamann, Inc., in Vermont. Alongside his technological endeavors, Mr. Whittemore is a prominent long-distance runner and jumper whose participation in the sport is among the best for those in his age bracket. At the age of 82, he has continued to partake in running throughout New England and he has been featured in the sports sections of The Eagle Times and Valley News. Running his first marathon in Boston in 1961, he continued to run more than one mile per day for seven consecutive years. Over the decades, Mr. Whittemore has been recognized with three RONALD C.
