39 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT A music educator for three decades between 1957 and 1987 in Elmira, New York, Vincent G. Stepulis currently owns the Big S Music in Pine City, New York, a store he has owned since 1980. He was a certified school administrator through New York State, and formerly served the New York State Conference of Musicians on their executive board and as vice president. To prepare for his career, Mr. Stepulis pursued a formal education at Mansfield College (now known as Mansfield University), where he earned a BS in music education in 1955. Later on, he attended Ithaca College and received an MS in music education in 1962. Drawing upon an early interest in music, Mr. Stepulis notes that his father was always supportive of his interests and hobbies. He initially became enthralled by music when he was a patient at Shriner’s Hospital as a child. To provide the pediatric patients with entertainment, the hospital offered free music lessons, thus inspiring a passion for music within him. A member of the American Federation of Musicians since 1950, Mr. Stepulis served as executive secretary for his local chapter in 1995 and was first chair of the performing program. His greatest career achievement has been his work with his public school students. He emphasizes that he still maintains a friendship with many of his former students, who contact him often via email. Likewise, he states that a career highlight has been serving as president of the Penn Del Mor D.C. Conference for 15 years. Although retired from the music industry in a formal capacity, Mr. Stepulis dedicates his time to selling instruments. Looking forward, he intends to cultivate a greater relationship with his wife and family in order to pass down his legacy. A celebrated Marquis listee, he was featured in the 58th edition of Who’s Who in America in 2003. Millennium Magazine Featured Listee VINCENT G.
