53 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine BUSINESS SERVICES, CONSULTING AND HUMAN RESOURCES Mr. Silvey founded his own business management consulting firm, Ray Silvey & Associates, Inc., in 2000. In this role, he utilized his knowledge of management in providing services to clients in labor relations and benefits, as well as negotiating labor contracts and training. Earlier in his career, Mr. Silvey was the personnel director for the Consumer Products Division of Litton Industries in Springfield, Missouri, from 1959 to 1969 and senior vice president of human resources and labor relations for Dairy Farmers of America, the world’s largest dairy cooperative, from 1970 to 2000. For the final three years of his career, he interviewed topmanagement personnel andmade recommendations to the president and chief executive officer in building a new corporate staff. Upon the consolidation of dairy cooperatives throughout America in the formation of Dairy Farmers of America, he chaired three task forces in developing policies and procedures. Mr. Silvey developed a passion for human resources and business management. He served on the National Milk Producers Federation and Health Insurance Task Force. He is a past chairman of the human resources committee of the National Council of Farm Cooperatives and past board member of the Ozarks Business on Health. Hewas secretary-treasurer of theMissouri Dairy Products Association for over 10 years. Holding a BS in business from Missouri State University, Mr. Silvey enhanced his knowledge of the field through additional coursework at myriad other colleges. While attending Missouri State, he played basketball as a point guard for the Bears all four years. He has contributed locally to the Family Violence Center in Springfield as a board member and maintained involvement with the Campfire Girls of America in Springfield. He also worked closelywith theOrphans Organization. He received the 2019Meritorious Service Award from the Missouri Dairy Hall of Honors Foundation. R ay Newton Silvey is an accomplished business management professional who has dedicated over 60 years of his life to human resources and labor relations. Retired since 2018, Mr. Silvey served Prairie Farms Dairy as vice president of human resources and labor relations for 12 years.
