68 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION D rawing upon a BS and an MS in elementary education, both from St. Cloud State University, Eunice Delilah Cross has accrued 40 years of inimitable experience in academia prior to her retirement in 2008. Serving Independent District 51 in Foley, Minnesota, beginning in 1960, she was a fourth grade teacher for four years before transitioning to a first grade teaching position in 1964. From 1966 to 1985, Ms. Cross excelled as a sixth grade teacher. She then went on to serve as a chapter I teacher and chair of the chapter I department from 1985 to 1998. During her tenure in education, Ms. Cross was active with the Foley Public School Board in multiple roles including treasurer, vice president and chair between 1999 and 2007. Likewise, she maintained membership with the American Cancer Society as the Benton Unit secretary turned president, as well as the Daffodil chair between 1985 and 2007. Active with the Foley Foundation from 2003 to 2004, she was also a clerk for the Benton Stearns Cooperative from 2005 to 2007 and a member of the Foley Connection Team from 1987 to 1999. To remain abreast of changes in her profession, Ms. Cross was involved with such organizations as the Benton Stearns Education Association, Minnesota School Board Association, Retired Teachers Association of Central Minnesota and Foley Education Association. With the Foley Education Association, she served as president from 1970 to 1972 and was honorably recognized as Teacher of the Year in 1971. Likewise, she sat on the board of directors of the Minnesota State Board of Education. In light of her achievements, Ms. Cross has accrued several accolades for her work, including receiving the Leadership in Education Excellence Award from the Central Minnesota Education Research in 1996. As a testament to her legacy, she is also highlighted in numerous editions of Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who of American Women, dating back to 2000. Born and residing in Foley, Ms. Cross is the proud mother of six children: Carol, Michael, Mari, Elizabeth, Jon and Catherine. She also has 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
