SOCIAL SERVICES AND NONPROFIT ARTIST, EDUCATOR, VOLUNTEER Fort Worth, TX YVONNE COLEMAN LOWRIE D riven by a passion and willingness to serve, Yvonne Coleman Lowrie holds an incredible legacy as a 64-year member of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America, originally joining in 1942. She has been recognized for being a 60-year member in Knoxville, Tennessee, and a 50-year volunteer in Fort Worth, Texas, which involved 12 national council meetings held triennially throughout the country and two World Conferences in the U.S. and Hong Kong. Additionally, she has lead and coordinated 13 Girl Scout trips to World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts Centers in Switzerland, England, Mexico and India with more than 150 participants, among other accomplishments and awards. Ms. Lowrie received a BA from Carson-Newman University in 1959 and achieved an MEd from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1962. She commenced her career with the Fort Worth and Tarrant County YWCA, where she was assistant executive director and teen program director from 1959 to 1968. She went on to become a sewing teacher at STRETCH and Sew Fabric Center from 1975 to 1977, and most recently served as a sales consultant for Tole Etc. from 1985 to 1988. 293 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine
