244 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT In the latter half of her career, Ms. Hopper Zeltner served as general counsel and director of governmental affairs for the Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers from 2012 to 2016, attorney and government relations con- sultant at her eponymously-named firm, the Law Office of Tara Hopper Zeltner, from 2016 to 2017 and of counsel at South Natick Law from 2017 to 2018. Shortly thereafter, she was general counsel for Garden Remedies, Inc., and vice president of regulatory affairs and licensing at Columbia Care before accepting her current position as associ- ate general counsel at Trulieve in 2020. Believing in the importance of patient care within the realm of pharmaceuticals, Ms. Hopper Zeltner is most passionate about advocating for those who struggle with mental illness. A proponent of the legalization of medical marijuana as well, she attributes her success to her mentors who have guided and encouraged her throughout her career. B alancing two distinct careers in mental health and law, Tara Hopper Zeltner, Esq., commenced her career as a social worker for Worcester Youth and Family Counseling Services in 1996. Drawing upon an early BSW from Salisbury University and an MSW from Barry University, she subsequently worked as a psychiatric social work intern at the Florida Medical Center, psychiatrist’s assistant at Compass Health and mental health therapist at PsychSolutions, Inc., before delving into public welfare as a mental health advocate and director of public policy at the Advocacy Center for Persons with Disabilities in 2000. Subsequently excelling as chief of staff of the Florida Senate for three years, Ms. Hopper Zeltner transitioned into the legal sector as director of legislative affairs for ChildNet, Inc., prior to attaining her JD from Nova Southeastern University in 2011 and an LLM in health law and public policy from the Seton Hall University School of Law in 2012.
