Soquel, CA DEBRA “DEE” RAVIS Initially involved in the pharmaceutical industry with Mylan Pharmaceuticals between 1997 and 2017, Debra “Dee” Ravis often worked with the software and testing components of the pharmaceutical corporation. Thoroughly enjoying her work, upon her departure from Mylan Pharmaceuticals, she began serving as a project manager in ambulatory operations at West Virginia University School of Medicine in 2017. Although the industry change was significant, what remained was the software-related technologies with which she worked. Subsequently, Ms. Ravis decided to delve further into the project management and software fields, and has excelled as a software test engineer for ManTech since 2019. Drawing upon a BBA in management from Waynesburg University in 2001, Ms. Ravis is currently working towards becoming a certified SCRUM Master. She attributes her success to her perseverance and tenacity in the face of struggle. Active in her local community, she has served as a board member of Daphne’s Lamp since 2017 and is a former member of the board of directors of the Morningside Estates Homeowners Association. Additionally, Ms. Ravis is active in Christian’s Hope and her local church. Since 2010, Dr. Fathy Yassa has excelled as the founder and chief executive officer of Speech Morphing Systems, Inc., where he focuses his efforts on high-tech speech communications. Noting that “speech morphing” is defined as the recreation of naturalsounding human voices for automated services, Dr. Yassa emphasizes that this innovation is widely sought-after in the newly developing field of natural language speech synthesis. He holds more than 42 U.S. and European patents, has published 35 papers and is a senior lifetime member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Drawing upon a BE in electronics and communications from Cairo University and a BS in mathematics from Ain Shams University, Dr. Yassa also holds an MS in mathematics from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and a PhD in electronics from West Virginia University. He also completed the Executive MBA program from the AEA/Stanford Executive Institute. Prior to founding Speech Morphing Systems, Dr. Yassa served such companies as Yvent Networks, Neomagic Corporation, Pulsent Corporation, Synopsys Inc., Motorola Semiconductor, STMicroelectronics and General Electric.
